WEBSITE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

Websites that work for your business.

Your website should help people understand what you offer and take the next step. I build business websites, WordPress sites, and custom web applications around the people who will use them—and the people who will maintain them.

Start with the experience

We’ll work out who the site is for, what visitors need to find, and which actions matter: getting in touch, exploring a gallery, booking a tour, or using an online tool. That gives the design and content a practical purpose.

The project can include responsive layouts, navigation, page structure, image presentation, forms, and the technical foundations that help search engines understand your pages. The platform depends on how you plan to use and update the result.

Connect the website to the work behind it

A website can be part of a larger system. I can connect it to galleries, databases, APIs, booking tools, and commerce services. For a custom application, we’ll define the workflows and data requirements before deciding how to build it.

  • Business websites, portfolios, and landing pages
  • WordPress setup, redesigns, and content management
  • Custom web tools, dashboards, and application prototypes
  • Booking, checkout, and third-party integrations

Payment processing, hosting, licenses, and ongoing responsibilities are scoped explicitly. A useful first version can be smaller than the eventual platform.

Examples from real projects

Soda & Cereal connects a photography website with SmugMug galleries, school search, permitted downloads, and a commerce backend. Rugger Tours combined a WordPress tour website with WooCommerce booking and deposit workflows.

I also build my own connected products: ReadyRuck and StageAutograph. Those projects inform how I think about the relationship between an application, its companion website, and the systems behind them.

A handoff you can use

We’ll agree on what you want to manage yourself. The handoff can include content-editing instructions, source documentation, deployment notes, and a walkthrough. AI-assisted maintenance and ongoing website support are available when they fit your needs.

Common questions

Do I need WordPress?

It depends on who will update the site and what the site needs to do. WordPress can suit regular content editing; a lightweight custom site or web application can suit other requirements. We’ll choose the approach after discussing your workflow.

Can you quote a whole project?

Yes. A fixed quote can work well when the pages, features, and handoff are defined. Development has a $125/hour for work with evolving scope. We’ll agree on the estimate and any additional costs before starting.
